n this seminar, students will learn to examine philosophy of science issues based oncase studies from the history of science. The lecturers’ historical expertise is mainlysituated in the period between the 16th and early 19th century, with a focus on thenatural and bio-medical sciences. The perspectives of philosophy of science can bediverse (methodology, modelling practice, metaphysics, …), but are always chosen fortheir relevance for contemporary philosophical debates.
